Moeder & dochter

Ze hebben een goede band, dat kan ik zien. Ik hoor het, ik voel het. Ze hebben plezier samen, vertellen elkaar veel, zijn openhartig, eerlijk, adrem en lachen om dezelfde dingen.

Toch wringt er ergens iets…

Kleine zij voelt zich verantwoordelijk, gedraagt zich wijs, houdt rekening met de anderen van het gezin.

Grote zij doet wat ze kan maar heeft tijd te kort. Alles is leuk, interessant en er moet veel geregeld worden. Dat gaat ten koste van tijd.

Samen tijd. Tijd voor jezelf.

Ik vraag wat dit met ze doet, nu ze dit zo horen van elkaar. Ze begrijpen het. Snappen waar het vandaan komt, maar zouden het ook anders willen.

Moeder neemt hierin de regie. Ze neemt zelf de verantwoordelijkheid over. Ze bedankt haar dochter voor haar hulp. Tegelijkertijd is ze zich erg bewust van struggles met tijd.

Dat vraagt om keuzes te maken. De tip die ik haar meegeef is om zich te realiseren dat er altijd keuzes zijn. Dat haar eigen tijd net zo heilig is als de tijd van of met de kinderen.

Door hierin haar eigen behoeftes te onderzoeken, uit te spreken en daadwerkelijk in te plannen weten anderen dit ook.

Dat laatste geeft dan weer wat extra houvast om het vol te houden.

Keuzes, keuzes, keuzes….nu nog kiezen.

De dochter liet weten het niet door te hebben. Ja, wel dat ze het zo druk heeft, maar dat lijk ze allemaal zo makkelijk te doen….

Want eerlijk is eerlijk, moeders zijn een kei in zorgen voor een ander, maar vergeten zichzelf hierin nog wel eens.

Dus, lieve moeder, waar ga jij nee tegen zeggen? Hoe ga jij zorgen voor jezelf?

PS: ze hebben allebei uiteindelijk een treffend kompas voor zichzelf neergelegd
